Microsoft Contribution Promotes Training in Visionary Leadership • Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey

TRENTON, May 16, 2019—The Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey, a non-profit which advances the governance of New Jersey’s public schools, today announced that it has received a contribution from Microsoft supporting the Association’s GPS for Visionary Leadership Weekend program, designed to provide advanced training for board presidents and those who aspire to board leadership positions.

Because of the generosity by Microsoft, the NJSBA was able to offer a successful weekend program at no cost to local school districts. Topics focused on teamwork, student achievement, and other areas vital to effective governance. The weekend also featured hands-on small group sessions, which were led by seasoned school board members who serve as trainers and share their expertise.

The Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey, created in 2008, is an affiliate of the New Jersey School Boards Association and works to advance public education through training, research, and grants to support professional development. It serves New Jersey’s local boards of education, public charter school boards of trustees, other public entities and non-profit organizations.

The New Jersey School Boards Association is a federation of the state’s local boards of education and includes the majority of New Jersey’s charter schools as associate members. NJSBA provides training, advocacy, and support to advance public education and promote the achievement of all students through effective governance.
