
Stephanie Fisher is active in community, civic and religious organizations throughout Camden County within the State of New Jersey. Originally from the State of Connecticut where she received her B.S. in Economics from Southern Connecticut State college along with certifications from Temple University, Kean University, and Camden County College.
Currently residing in Voorhees, NJ, Stephanie was elected to the Eastern Camden County Regional School District Board of Education in 1986 where she served for 16 years. She held a number of positions while serving her tenure there i.e. Chairperson of the Superintendent Selection Committee, Liaison to the Athletic Department, Finance and Curriculum Chairperson, Delegate to NJSBA where she served on a number of committees and acquired her Board Certification. In addition, she served several terms as County School Board President.
Stephanie began her employment history with Camden County by serving as Deputy County Administrator. She then went on to hold the position of Chief of Staff for Freeholder Riletta L. Cream where she served for 14 years managing her office staff, writing speeches, attending events in her absence and speaking on her behalf.
She then became the Director of Training and Instruction for Camden County where she was responsible for the training of 2,500 employees. She was responsible for teaching such courses as Ethics, Harassment, Policies and Procedures to name a few.
Today, Stephanie is Confidential Aide for the Chief of Police of the newly formed Camden County Police Department. She manages his office, supervises staff both sworn and non-sworn and acts on his behalf.
Additionally, Stephanie is County Liaison to the Camden County Human Relations Commission, Chairperson of the Voorhees Cultural and Diversity Committee (appointed by the Mayor), Treasurer of the Voorhees Cultural and Diversity Foundation, Docent for the Peter Mott House located in Lawnside, NJ of which she is a lifetime member. She is also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 8004 also located in Lawnside.
She has served as secretary to the State NAACP, is 1st Vice Chairperson of the Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey, past President of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees of the Camden County YMCA.
During Governor Florio’s tenure, Stephanie was appointed to the Commission on Racism resulting in the development of a curriculum that is currently used by teaching personnel in New Jersey’s Public Schools. She served proudly as the Commission’s secretary.
She also served on a special law enforcement committee as part of the State Human Relations Commission resulting in her writing and implementing the curriculum currently used by Camden County Police Departments in the area of diversity and understanding peoples from diverse backgrounds.
Stephanie is one of the founding members of CBCC, Inc. that fostered and supported education for young people residing in Voorhees.
In addition to managing the Riletta L. Cream Scholarship Fund where she is serving as treasurer, Stephanie is a member of the Greater Clementon Lions Cub, and Women’s Federation.
She volunteers as Church Clerk for Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she is the President Emeritus of the Usher Board, a Sunday School Instructor, Director of Vacation Bible School, Co-Chairperson of the Disaster Relief Ministry and secretary of the Security Ministry. She has also served as the representative to the Conference on Global Ministry.
Stephanie has received a number of awards and accolades in recognition of her willingness to help others but is most proud of the 2006 Tribute to Women in Industry award for empowering women in the workforce, the 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal Award both presented by the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Stephanie is married to retired Army Colonel Al Fisher and they have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
