
Dr. Nicholas Diaz is the superintendent of schools for Union Township and Franklin Township School Districts in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Dr. Diaz has served as a superintendent for 8 years and has served as principal, assistant principal, and elementary school teacher throughout his educational career. In 2017, Dr. Diaz was named as a Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association and in 2021 he was named Educational Leader of the Year by Centenary University/Visions FCU.
Under his leadership, his school districts have received statewide recognition for their innovative programs. In 2018, Union Township received two school communications awards from the New Jersey School Public Relations Association (NJSPRA). In 2019, the District received a School Leader Award for their innovation labs from the New Jersey School Boards Association. Franklin Township has been honored for their sustainability programs including a silver certification from Sustainable New Jersey for the past 3 school years. In 2021, Franklin Township school was named a Digital Star School for embracing the mindful implementation of effective digital learning and communication tools, resources, and practices.
Dr. Diaz has served on the advisory board for NJSPRA and is a current board member for the Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission. Dr. Diaz also serves on the New Jersey Association of School Administrators Leadership Diversity Committee.
